Trap-Neuter-Release

Homeless cats roaming your neighborhood?
Upset by the never-ending cycle of unwanted kittens?  Tired of the fighting, yowling, and spraying?  TNR, or trap-neuter-return, is a humane and effective approach to managing and, ultimately, decreasing feral (wild) and stray cat populations.

Trap: The cats are caught and transported using safe, humane traps.
    N
euter/Spay:  The cats are taken to a veterinary clinic to be neutered or spayed and vaccinated.

    R
eturn:  The cats are returned to the site from which they came.

Community Cat Initiative, The Hermitage’s TNR program, offers the following services:

  • Trap loans:  $40 cash deposit per trap, two-week loan – deposit returned upon return of trap.
  • Vouchers for low-cost neuters and spays:  $15 per cat and an additional $7 for pregnant females – to be used at participating clinics.
  • Information regarding the trap-neuter-return approach and general information regarding feral and stray cat populations.

If you are interested in creating a better quality of life for, both the people, and homeless cats in your neighborhood, please contact the Community Cat Initiative at:
