WANTED: SPECIAL PEOPLE FOR A VERY SPECIAL MISSION!

Do you want to experience the heartwarming satisfaction that comes from helping some very special animals who can’t help themselves? If you have ever volunteered your time to help a worthy cause, then you know that wonderful feeling of self-satisfaction. If you have never been a volunteer, this would be a great opportunity to start! In either case, we want you!

If you believe that all life is precious, join our corps of volunteers and help The Hermitage carry out its mission. There are many ways that you can help save lives, find loving homes for deserving animals, keep our feline residents healthy, happy, and safe, and help obtain financial support. We need volunteers to do the following…

Apply for grants

Help plan, organize, and work at events

Participate in community outreach programs

Raise money

Housekeeping

Help in the office

Write articles for the website and newsletters

Building repairs and maintenance

Grounds keeping

Computer applications and graphics

New program development

You can choose to volunteer at the shelter, or you can work from home. You must be reliable and willing to follow directions. Once you have received orientation/training and signed the volunteer agreement, you will be ready to help us carry out our mission as one of our valued volunteers.

You must be at least 16 years of age to volunteer, and you must have the written consent of a parent/guardian if you are under age. Unfortunately, we can’t accept volunteers to perform court-ordered community service.

WARNING: Volunteering in the shelter can be habit-forming. Once our adorable kitties get their paws on you, there is no way you can resist!
